Principled??

The New York Times justifiably questions the motives behind the Bush administration’s refusal, so far, to approve duty-free status to Egyptian goods containing some Israeli content.

Pardon me if I sneer at politicians’ lofty proclamations about their devotion to principle, their courage, and their tireless quest for peace.
