I'm not sure what I expected, but I would have thought that Manhattan had more baseball diamonds than that.

This was a seriously cool post.

What is it about baseball that makes many, such as myself, find endless facination in the statistics and trivia of the game, and peripheral issues?

I couldn't help but notice the distribution of retired numbers had a striking resemblence to the distribution of the nucleotide-to-amino acid encoding. Coincidence? You be the judge.

Baseball gets lost in the statistics sometimes. Comparing retired statistics to today is futile. I'd rather just watch with my eyes, I can tell you who can play and who can't.

There are lies, damn lies, and statistics.
