There is no such thing as "the environment". There is your property, and there is my property, and there are the things we necessarily share, like a border, and air and water. But I can tell if you're polluting my air, or my water, and the law about interacting at property lines is fairly well settled.

So I don't understand what you're worrying about ... unless it's the air and water pollution that the government permits and won't let me sue you for.

Ahh, schwabby, I think that this: "How about some examles (sic) of Capitalizism (sic) cleaning something important, like the environment."

is exactly what Don is doing, eh?

"The Environment" after all is huge and it is also small. Enough small cleaning and it effects the huge, eh?

After all, a screen cleans up an important, though small, portion of the environment and renders it enjoyable and usable if one wants to be productive in that small environment without being harassed and bitten by bugs.

And, isn't the handle of a shopping cart part of "the environment" that an individual has to deal with on a frequent basis?

If you want capitalism to come up with a way of ending all pollution of nature, then we will have to find a way of ending all life and all geothermal activity such as volcanos.

What a drag that would be. No more twinkies, no more beer, no more bikinis on sunny beaches, just a sterile Earth.......but pure by God!

Sir, how dare you to cloud the issue by citing convincing facts and solid research? Have you no shame?
