Great point, Don. That’s similar to the point George Selgin made in a panel discussion RE: the Federal Reserve at Fordham Law School last spring. Someone tried blaming the (severity of the) current recession on the complex financial instruments; Selgin responded that although the point may be correct, that’s similar to blaming the plane crash on gravity!
