Otherwise, you disadvantage yourself relative to your competitors. I think Ayn Rand had some very important things to say and I generally consider myself a fan. If you’re running a private firm with no outside capital, you have the option to refuse and you will do that only if you think the help you receive from the subsidy is greater than the strangling you’ll get from the government strings. Otherwise, you disadvantage yourself relative to your competitors.
