Every day in the developing countries, over 7,000 people die from air pollution when using wood, dung and agricultural waste in their homes as heating and cooking fuel. No less than 2.8 million people are estimated to die every year from polluted indoor air. These are supremely real “devastating environmental effects”. Tying people down to that level of development means every year condemning millions to premature death.
