Mid-Twentieth-Century America IV

Here’s a t.v. commercial for a Quasar television set made by Motorola. This commercial is from 1972, the year I entered high school. Note especially the “works in a drawer t.v. design for ease of service” feature. Take it from someone who well remembers what television sets were like back then: today’s models, all far less expensive than any ‘comparable’ models from 40 years ago, are immeasurably superior to the sets that we Americans enjoyed at a time when our economic prosperity allegedly peaked.
