… is from page 262 of Henry Manne’s 1997 article “The Judiciary and Free Markets,” as it is reprinted in Liberty and Freedom in the Economic Ordering of Society (2009), which is volume 3 of The Collected Works of Henry G. Manne:

Unfortunately, the truth is that in universities the world over, the tremendous analytical power and insights of market economics are unappreciated.  For whatever political or ideological reasons, we have deprived generations of university students of a clear understanding of basic economic forces and their proper role in a free society.

George Mason University’s Department of Economics is, of course, a great exception to the regrettable fact that Henry here reports.
