Propaganda, of course, is unique neither to Barack Obama nor to the U.S. Democratic party. Because ideas matter, and because voters are both rationally ignorant [2] and rationally irrational [3], government officials – ordinary human beings hungry for ever-more-secure and expansive power – are constantly tempted to use it. Yet as with all human endeavors, some people are more skilled at propaganda than are other people. (And also, it should be noted, some people are more susceptible to propaganda than are other people.)
