The socialist epoch was successful in replacing ‘God will take care of you’ (which I recall from an old hymn) with ‘the state will take care of you.’
DBx: Whether you believe in a supernatural being or, like me, have no such belief, given the state’s historical record at ‘caring’ for its subjects, it’s insane for ordinary people to turn to the state as a source of earthly security and comfort.
