I share James Lange’s
disgust at environmentalists who relentlessly complain that corporate
contributions to environmental causes are inadequate (Letters, May 14 [3]). In his poem "An Apology for Luxury," Voltaire addressed such shrill ingrates:
For thee the world at work has been / That thou at ease might vent thy spleen.
