The latest EconTalk is Robert Shiller on the housing market [2]. Taped just before the Fannie and Freddie bail out, Shiller argues that the run-up in housing prices was a bubble that has popped. I’m not convinced, but he has a lot of interesting things to say. Along the way, he talks about how he and Case came to create the Case-Shiller housing index and how it might be used to reduce mortgage defaults.
