The Price of Everything is now available in paperback [2] at Amazon. It is a novel that explores the role of emergent order in our lives, how emergent order allows for the creation of wealth and prosperity, and my favorite part, perhaps, how it allows us to pursue our dreams in harmony. There is no weaver of dreams, yet somehow, my desire to improve my tennis game doesn’t hamper your desire to eat more potato chips. Somehow, the resources each of us needs are always available. How do our dreams harmonize without conflict and without a weaver of dreams? There are also discussions of price gouging, innovation, and, inequality. It’s my attempt to understand Hayek’s insights into knowledge and prices, apply those insights to a wide array of economic phenomena and our daily lives, and make the whole thing accessible to a non-technical audience.
