The Forgotten Person

Tweet [1]

Here’s a letter to the Washington Post:

George Will explains that Obamacare’s enormous tax hike on producers of medical equipment will discourage the production of such equipment (“Taxing jobs out of existence [2],” May 10).  That members of the Obama administration and Congress apparently failed to see what should be obvious is evidence that the atmosphere stirred up by politics – and fanned further by the power to spend other people’s money – is blinding.  Sadly, it has always been so.  H.L. Mencken observed 76 years ago that “Everybody has been thought of by the young pedagogues save the poor fellow who, in the long run, will have to pay the bills.  Every sort of misfit and lazybones has been taken care of, but not the man who takes care of himself.”*
