Quotation of the Day…

Tweet [1]

… is from page 83 of my great colleague Walter Williams’s 2010 autobiography, Up From the Projects [2] (links added):

I probably became a libertarian through exposure to tough-minded professors who encouraged me to think with my brain instead of my heart. Another important exposure: to the works of great philosopher/economists such as Frederic Bastiat [3], Ludwig von Mises [4], Friedrich A. Hayek [5], and Milton Friedman [6].

DBx: Elsewhere in his autobiography Walter justly celebrates the brilliance of Armen Alchian [7] – one of Walter’s actual teachers at UCLA and an economist whose works, in my opinion, remain very much under-appreciated.
