… I put the following question: Because the government cannot carryout a task as relatively simple as delivering monkeypox vaccines to their intended destinations [2], what reason have you to believe that the government is to be trusted to carry out successfully the far more complex task of conducting industrial policy?

Seriously. Have you industrial-policy advocates observed how the government routinely operates? Here’s a snippet from the above-linked report in the New York Times:
