Public Opinion Matters

in Great Depression

I met Paul Kedrosky at the Kauffman Foundation's Economics Bloggers Forum.  This post of his is cause for at least some hope that the Obama 'revolution' won't be able to harm the economy as much as the New Deal did.

I'm not sure these two polls are analogous. If this was a poll from 1930, early into the crisis that led to the depression, that might mean something. But this poll was from 1937; almost a decade after the public went through years of bank failures and deposit losses.

I mean, it's interesting, but it's not a good basis for comparison of public opinion between then and now.
