The New York Times reports under this photo:
Representative Barney Frank, and Senators Charles E. Schumer and
Christopher J. Dodd would play critical roles guiding the
administration’s financial overhaul through Congress.
Christopher J. Dodd would play critical roles guiding the
administration’s financial overhaul through Congress.
They have played a major role in past financial regulation and in blocking regulation that helped create the crisis.
Are they stooges? I report, you decide:
Frank has a Fannie Mae problem.
Dodd has an AiG problem. And a Fannie Mae problem.
And Schumer co-sponsored the bill that caused the financial crisis (according to Paul Krugman.)

They're also arrogant stooges because they fail to admit (or possibly even believe) that they had prominent roles in causing those respective crises you listed. I'm actually more concerned with the arrogance than the stupidity because they're only going to feel more confident/emboldened to do more and more stupidity.
BTW, Peter Schiff might run in the GOP primaries in CT. If the elections are held today, Dodd will lose.
I love the picture. It brings to mind the question: "Do you feel safe with these guy at the helm?"
Honestly, Paul Krugman's analysis is worthless to me.
And doesn't Dodd have a Countrywide problem too?
S. Andrews, are you in CT as well? If Peter Schiff runs, he'll make my year.
Methinks,
Nope. CA. I will be happy to see a lover of libety get elected. He is appearing on the Jon Stewart show next week. He might announce his candidacy on the show. He definitely has the rhetorical skills to be an effective politician. Let's see how it goes.
He made his first political speech a few days ago at the CT libertarian party's convention. He asked all libertarians to leave LP and infiltrate the GOP.
Chuckie Schumer evokes a contempt that is beyond comparison, not even the queer or the thug can compete.
He is one of those mysteries, what is his core base that he goes to for re-election?
He is the most obvious piece of crap in congress.
Oh, for the delicate, this is my personal opinion, no animals (only 83 humans) were harmed in its formation.
I posted on this but it hasn't appeared, so I'll try it again:
The "Three Stooges" WERE funny. These three are frightening.
Frank is a little twit trying to make himself feel BIG by blustering and pontificating (all the while spraying his spit all 'round as he blah, blah, blah-blusters. He will never be more than an infected boil on the hide of the US Republic.
Dodd is a blow-dried pimp: His quafed hair is not the only thing that reminds of Blago.
Schumer reminds of the "Ghost Busters" movie specter who "slimes" those who oppose him. Schumer's cynical sneers are as snyde as they are corrosive to individual liberty.
S Andrews,
I may bring myself to watch Jon Stewart just for that one show (I can't stand him or his show). I think Schiff is right. Sam Grove has educated me about how exclusive the political club is and how it's impossible for another party to present serious competition. I would be very excited to see Schiff's name on the ballot.
I'm in CT and I would vote for Schiff over Dodd, et al.
At least on the economics.
I would be curious to know Schiff's stance on more hot button issues…
Russ,
As a fan of the "Three Stooges" I protest your comparison. Moe, Larry. Curly and Shemp were actors that provided numerous hours of good fun. Frank, Schumer and Dodd are real life clowns whose policy decisions have played a major part in the current financial mess we are in and prescriptions for cure they advocate are equally as disastrous, as such they are loathsome bums.
These three should appear in The Simpson's Treehouse of Horrors.
