Fantastic! I would love to see some similar work on Baby Bush, for all the destruction he has heaped on us.

Fantastic! I would love to see some similar work on Baby Bush, for all the destruction he has heaped on us.

Well, let’s see. How do we measure the “destruction heaped on us” by government? One way is to look at spending. When government spends, it is spending our money, one way or another.

In the 8 years Bush was in office, he and the (largely) Republican-controlled Congress increased Federal Spending from $1.789 trillion/year to $2.932 trillion/year, an increase of $1.142 trillion/year. That’s a totally disastrous, financially irrespsonsible, track record.

Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress increased spending by that much in the first 90 days Obama was in office. And Obama is just getting warmed up.

I noticed today that the Obama administration is now admitting that their estimate of a $7+ trillion deficit was low — low by a mere $2 trillion dollars.

Bush was a piker compared to this crowd.

But the resident imbecile tells us that Bush was a “do nothing” President, who caused aggregate demand to slip, and caused animal spirits to rev up before he let it die. Yes, he thinks that is economics – especially the animal spirits part.

Forget the politics.

Focus on the analogy.

Prior to the 2008 elections, I suggested that Obama would have a hard time outspending Bush.

Boy, did I ever miss with that call.

Of course, if Malia wants to switch to a lunch menu consisting of lobster wraps instead of the Kobe Paninis, that’s not an option either.
