Yes Don, you knew it was coming because you posted on this before.

Yes it is scary and disgusting and people will walk right by it because the alternative is confrontation with government…..and lord knows we can’t do that…..hell, it is risky. Might not get to watch the Steelers this weekend.

I comment and put the truth out about the biggest fraud perpetrated on the American people and people run from that elephant in the room. Great big huge gray elephant that takes up virtually all the space in the Cafe, and people run from it. Can’t talk about it, can’t display any outrage at the lies they have been fed, can’t relate to the idea that if they had kept all their money all the years they have been working their lives could be so much better for having made their own decisions. Oh no, ignore that elephant.

That’s okay. I’m sure they’ll make up for it in subsidies for the “green” economy.

That was my second thought from the first article. My first thought is that few people will hear about the fuel subsidy and also few people will acknowledge that is will be beneficial that the gov’t does not use this spend this money because of the reasons we talked about in our Keynes discussion. My second thought was, but the gov’t will probably not just cut the money from the budget and will use it to subsidize something else. So am I being too pessimistic if I disagree with Don about the article was “good?”

“the gov’t will probably not just cut the money from the budget and will use it to subsidize something else”

You are not pessimistic, but realistic. That is what they will do, because that is what they always do.

Oh, but the first amendment doesn’t apply to commercial speech, does it? :P

We’ve had that violation of our freedoms for years already. If you have a business, you aren’t protected by the first amendment anymore.

The truth is not a sufficient defense in the free market; and lies are not a chargeable offense in the political market.

Law is an amazing thing. Too bad we don’t regulate its’ practitioners ;)

Venezuela’s US$647 per capita per year in subsidies comes primarily from selling petrol at 2 euro cents per liter or US$ 10 cents per gallon and with this the government that likes to be known as socialistic, but that is in fact about the most asocial governments on earth, transfers around 10 percent of its GDP from those who have nothing to those driving around in cars, and which are currently also imported at preferential FX rates.

So soon? I didn’t think government would show us yet another reason why “choice in healthcare” with reform is a pipe dream, so quickly.

Anyone naive enough to believe that we’ll have real choice when one of the competitors in the market also happens to make law might deserve what they get.
