David Boaz is nostalgic for Bill Clinton.

If this was real, you would think these shock jocks would learn from Limbaugh. They can say whatever they want on the radio, but when they involve themselves with corporate America, those comments can come back to bite them.

Read Walter Block's reaction to Boaz's article:

"It is ok that we 'bombed a lot of countries,' forsooth? Countries that never first attacked us, that never in a million years could have done so? And that we bombed them? And this is good? This is something to feel 'nostalgic' about?"

    Bring back Bill indeed!
One of the reasons I liked Bill so much is that you always knew that late of a Friday eve in the Oval Office, whatever he had his hand on, at least it wasn't the nuclear button!
Bill's famous comment on what he supposedly didn't get up to with Miss Lewinsky is my second favorite presidential quote of the 20th century, second only to Milhous's "I am not a crook" line.
  • During the 1990's Clinton wanted to spend more and the Republicans wanted to spend less and the result was limited spending for the decade...

Also when you have the executive and legislative branches controlled by different parties there tends to be a limited spending. Also different parties check the special interest group spending...
  • Clinton and the Republicans passed a free trade deal in NAFTA change the welfare state in the Welfare Reform act of 1996 Deregulated telecommunications and changed financial regulations. In 1997 he had a tax cut and for the decade government spending was flat. Lets add it up free trade welfare cuts deregulation and limited government spending=Reaganomics.

Are you saying the welfare state has "consumed the economy" more since Clinton???

Does Mr. Boaz understand that Bubba's trade agreements and financial deregulations are still all in place. Does he not understand that policies like invading Iraq and the Bush tax cuts which favored are still beng paid for. Now he's claiming he apparently doesn't like the results or worse he doesn't see the things he likes so much about Bubba as the proximate causes of the things he doesn't like now as he looks out at his shattered country.

Muir, Not so wonderful point. You are not being your true self here. You should always say what you have always said on this matter - It was REPUBLICAN deregulation. Bubba would have nothing to do with it.

Now, do our team a favor, just provide some numbers on the net loss of regulation when the republicans in the house/senate. We can change to republicans in the white house when it is convenient.

    Love you, mmmmwwwaaahhhhh

Let's turn back the clock to a time when Islam had not declared war on the West, weapons could not be packed into underwear and the welfare state had not consumed the economy. I believe in yesterday.
