Thanks Russ. I just sent this to my girlfriend.
This is not how Pixar would have done it!
Exactly. The same effect could have been achieved at a fraction of the time and cost with computer graphics. I can’t help thinking the whole thing was a colossal waste of effort. It looks like it was more of an exercise in endurance rather than of skill.
The song itself was great. I’m sure Kina Grannis could have found something better to do with her time than to lie on a piece of glass for a year. There’s nothing admirable about doing that. I can’t imagine someone like, say, Lou Reed lying on a piece of glass for a year.
The equivalent of Lou’s unique vocal delivery could be easily produced at low cost with a synthesized voice application but that wouldn’t be quite the same, either. (although you have given me an idea for my next xtranormal project)
Don’t know if you’re being facetious….but the real point is I suppose, what business is it of yours what she does with her time?
Great video!
Sweet!
288,000 Jelly Bellies used to make the video! Wow!!
That’s an awful lot of Jelly Bellies. I wonder who had the pleasure of eating them all?
My own video wasn’t a hit, because budget constraints compelled me to use these: http://www.jellybelly.com/Shop/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=95698

Next time, consider this:

I am occasionally asked to give seminars about my line of work. The one thing I always stress is that it takes a lot of work to make it look easy. This video confirms what I say. Thanks for passing this along!
This must be some sort of proof that jelly bellies are “good calories”
1357 hours, four people, $30/hr is $163,000 plus the beans. A deceptively expensive video!
