In my recent stint at Econoblog, I mentioned the role of state-imposed mandates required health insurance that drive up the cost of health care insurance.  The mandates require a group insurance plan to cover various items whether an individual employee wants it or not.  Here is a list of the mandates required by the state of Virginia.
