The Deepest Thing We Know

I think the deepest thing economists understand is emergent order–how order can emerge as the result of human action but without human design. My book, The Price of Everything, is my attempt to understand the implications of emergent order for our standard of living and the richness of our daily lives. Here is a lecture I recently gave at SMU’s O’Neil Center on emergent order.
