Cleaned by Capitalism XXXVI

Here’s a small addition to humanity’s prosperity pool.  It’s an addition that makes our world a little bit cleaner and nicer.  This addition is made possible by petroleum, obviously, as well by as the countless creative, entrepreneurial innovations that enable petroleum to be transformed into this disposable and inexpensive plastic bag into which a wet umbrella can be easily slipped.  Of course, this addition to our prosperity pool also required the specific spark of entrepreneurial creativity that thought to make plastic bags in this shape and to market them to building owners and managers for use on rainy days.  And these bags are so inexpensive (meaning, so abundantly supplied) that building owners supply them free of charge to people.
