I’ve not yet carefully studied Trump’s newly announced roster of economic advisors, but I was disappointed, although not surprised, that one of Trump’s new economic advisors is the mercantilist economist Peter Navarro.

Navarro is often described as a “trade expert.” This description is about as accurate as is the description of a faith-healer as a “medical expert” – neither “expert” displays any evidence of understanding the science of the topic on which he is allegedly an expert.
