You can slather as much jargon-ladened intellectual make-up as you wish upon the protectionism that produces tariffs such as the one that the U.S. government just imposed on Americans who buy aircraft assembled in Canada. Underneath the make-up is a predatory pig – a vile and cunning beast that is just as hideous, just as vicious, and just as destructive with the make-up as without it.
