Editor:
I’m surprised by this subheading to your series of letters on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gives socialism a bad name” (Feb. 26).
At least among informed people, socialism’s consistent record of tyranny and crushing poverty earned for it a bad name long ago. A sober understanding of socialism’s evils did not have to await the appalling economic ignorance and irresponsible political shenanigans put into play by AOC.
