A Protectionist is Someone Who…

… believes that opposition to grants, by government, of special privileges, such as monopoly power that flows from tariffs, to politically influential domestic producers is opposition to all domestic producers.

This belief is nonsense, of course, but protectionism is nothing but a Niagara of nonsense.
