Muhammed Ali has turned 70. When I was in grad school at the University of Chicago he came to the philosophy department to give a seminar in the philosophy department. Ali lived nearby in Hyde Park and walked over. They had to move the talk from the cozy seminar room to a large auditorium. The title of the talk was The Intoxications of Life. It was a talk about the intoxicating nature of power, money, sex, and so on. Listening, you had a feeling it was a subject he knew something about. Very charismatic man.
