Cleaned by Capitalism XXII

One of the most annoying, if seldom lethal, pollutants that nature – in the process of producing her vegetation – unleashes on us humans is pollen.  Those many of us who are allergic to pollen can thank capitalism not only for air-conditioning (which keeps our indoor air supply at a comfortable temperature as it significantly cleanses our homes and workplaces of the pollen that swirls in the outdoor air), but also for medications such as fluticasone propionate (or “Flonase”) that relieve us of much of the suffering from such natural pollution.  Here’s yet another example of how our modern lives are cleaned by capitalism.
