Giancarlo Ibarguen, R.I.P.

Classical liberalism today lost a giant.  Giancarlo Ibarguen – former president of Guatemala’s remarkable Universidad Francisco Marroquin – died today.  Gianca possessed a rare combination of analytical brilliance, executive ability, institutional vision, wisdom, and unsurpassed charm, polish, and kindness.  My thoughts and well-wishes are with his family as well as with his many colleagues at UFM, who now have the challenging task of soldiering on without his guidance and encouragement.  Fortunately, his example remains alive in the minds and memories of many.

Gianca is mentioned in this 2015 EJW essay by Andrés Marroquin and Fritz Thomas.
