Letter to the New York Times on Globe-trotting Opponents of Globalization

Here’s a letter of mine that appeared in the November 30th, 2003, issue of the New York Times Magazine:

Rather than globe-trot from one adrenaline-pumping protest to another, Lisa Fithian should pause to study free trade and globalization. Admittedly, careful thought and reasoned discussion aren’t as thrilling as sloganeering and shouting epithets at television cameras. But if she would think less of herself and her escapades, and more about the issues that set her raving, she would learn that global capitalism generates widespread prosperity, cleanliness, cultural richness and liberty.
