All trade is at last a trade of barter and no nation will long buy unless it can also sell, – nor will it long sell if it will not also buy.
DBx: I just remembered that in 1823 David Ricardo died on this date, September 11th, and so I wanted to remember him today with a Quotation of the Day (thus the third such today).
